9 Millones is a journalism platform that seeks to restore hope to Puerto Rican communities residing both in and out of our islands. For us, hope is more than a dream, it is a driving force that defies narratives. We need you to continue telling stories that inform social structures and movements in Puerto Rico.

To continue our work, we have launched a campaign to raise $20,000 by January 2024. If we get 500 people to give us $40— we will reach our goal! Your tax-deductible contribution is an investment to help cultivate hope through stories that center solutions.

In 2023 we:

• Increased our network of collaborators to 55 people.
• Expanded our team to include an editor, a researcher, and an editorial assistant.
• Reported on the island of Vieques while integrating the community.
• Launched madresdelatierrapr.com, a photo essay and oral history project that highlights women who are leading projects that promote environmental and climate justice.
• Covered efforts to combat the displacement of Puerto Ricans.
• Offered multiple workshops on solutions journalism, broadcast journalism, and independent journalism.

The result: journalism that builds trust, hope, and health.
